Dr. Briana Walton joined Dr. Anita Pillai-Allen and the prestigious Capital Women’s Care in November 2019. Her goal is to improve delivery to pelvic health services to women in the DMV area.

Dr. Walton is pleased to announce that she will begin seeing patients at two other Capital Women’s Care Maryland locations; Germantown in March 2020, and Fulton in May 2020.

Prior to this role, she served as the Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) since its inception in 2008. She is recognized as an expert in robotic/minimally invasive surgery and treatment of fibroids, urinary incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. At AAMC, she helped develop the highest volume robotics program in the state of Maryland while developing programmatic growth around quality, cost containment, and safety.

Dr. Walton received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She was invited to be the first fellow in the Division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Harvard Medical School/Mount Auburn Hospital.

In addition, she earned a Master’s Program for the Business of Art and Design from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2016. Dr. Walton is using her Master’s to optimize patients’ experiences through design and education. In addition, she lectures on the impact of design and ergonomics on wellbeing and culture.

Dr. Walton has been an invited guest and lecturer to numerous events both regionally, nationally and internationally. Internationally, she uses her clinical skills and strengths in the treatment of health care disparities. She has worked in Ghana, Niger and most recently Rwanda for obstetrical fistula repairs.
