Dr. Dana Baras
Dr. Baras graduated magna cum laude with an undergraduate degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and received her master’s degree in public health from Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
During her master’s degree work, she took a particular interest in women’s health, working at the CDC in the Division of STD Prevention and studying the effects of antibiotics in pregnancy. It was at that time that she decided to pursue a career as an OB/GYN physician.
She then attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she earned her medical doctorate (M.D.), and Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, for residency training. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. For nine years, she was a practicing community physician with Johns Hopkins Healthcare in Columbia, Maryland.
Dr. Baras is passionate about providing her patients with evidence-based, modern healthcare in a safe and welcoming environment. Her special interests include low and high-risk obstetrics, adolescent care, family planning and contraception, and minimally invasive surgery. She is excited to join CWC to continue to care for women in a private practice setting in her local community!
Dr. Baras moved to Howard County in 2013 and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves all that Maryland has to offer and you might find her boating on the bay, spending time at local breweries or hiking through the beautiful Patapsco State Park.
